Truck and bus drivers face a lot of health issues. Theirs is a stressful job that needs them to be seated for long hours and handle the mental and physical load of handling a big vehicle. This takes a toll on them. Plus, most of the truck and bus drivers are not in the best shape. They have to take care of their health if they want to live long and be productive. Here are some health tips for them:

Eat Right – Truck and bus drivers barely have time to sit and eat nutritious meals. Many of them stop at food joints and grab fast food that they can eat on the go. Pizzas, burgers, fries, and other stuff like that add to their poor health. Heavy vehicle operators should eat right. Carry home-made meals when possible, and if you are eating out, opt for salads, grilled meats, veggies, and vegan food. Stay away from starchy and fried foods.

Exercise Often – Truck & bus drivers have to sit for long hours. They get no exercise. So, you have to do small exercises whenever possible. There are many exercises that one can do sitting in one place. But it is also good to get and stretch out the legs whenever possible. Exercise during your free time.

Get Some Rest – since truck and bus drivers drive for long hours, they don’t get enough time to rest. The human body needs 7-8 hours of sleep at least. So, truck and bus drivers should sleep for 7-8 hours at least when they get a chance. Occasional naps are also good.

Fatigue Management Course – Truck and bus drivers can do an online basic fatigue management course where they will learn to deal with fatigue and improve their health.

Do the above mentioned, and you can have good health despite being a truck or bus driver.
